My laptop keyboard is broken?

I have a Toshiba with Windows 7
My pet stepped on the keys while I was using it and messed up my laptop, and then whenever I pressed one key, for example, If I press A, what shows up is Adf~`
I shut it down with the power button. It wasn';t able to turn back on for a few days, but I finally managed to and it said I should do startup repair and so it did a system restore and fixed itself
But what';s still a problem is the keys. Some of them don';t work at all now, and when I try to hook up a Toshiba Tecra M9 Keyboard , if I press on the USB keys, they don';t work or show up on screen
So now I';m stuck and can';t log on. Any ideas on how to fix? Thanks.
